Information and signposting
If you’ve got general questions about anything relating to gender and sexual diversity, identity or equality, we’re on hand to help. If you don’t feel you need any specific support services, but would like to ask us a question, then contact us and we’ll either be able to give you the answer or signpost you to the person or organisation who can. We’re working on a frequently asked questions section of the site which will be updated regularly. Once we’ve got this up and running, you’ll be able to browse through to find the answer to your question.
Advice and guidance
Need more than just a bit of general information? We can help. If you need advice about something, just contact us and we’ll be happy to provide it. Similarly, if you’re looking for some guidance about something we can talk you through some options and ideas too.
Emotional Support
The emotional support services we provide range in technique and by answering some initial questions and through discussions with our team, we can tailor the support we provide to what you need. Everyone is different and we recognise that to support people the best way we can, we need to work with people individually to develop a service that helps them achieve their individual goals and meets their needs.
Practical Support
Sometimes you don’t need emotional support, but you might just be looking for some practical help. Sometimes this could be help to fill out some forms, or help with arranging other services or support from other agencies.
Advocacy
Some of our clients just need us to help them get their point across to other service providers, or maybe they need us to explain their situation to others to help them access services that would help them. Contact us and let us know what you need, and we can explain how we might be able to help act on your behalf. Sometimes it gives people the confidence they need, or other services a clearer understanding of their responsibilities.
Counselling
If you feel that there is something in your life that you need more in-depth support with, then we provide counselling to help you work through some of these. This could be trauma in your past, major issues with self-esteem and confidence, impact of physical or emotional abuse and so much more. We assess the needs of each client to make sure we’re offering the best service we can, so even if you’re unsure, just contact us and we’ll help you get the support that’s right for you.
Social groups and forums
We know that some people don’t feel that they need or would benefit from direct support, but would like to meet other people with similar experiences. Because of this we facilitate groups and social events where we bring people together to meet one another in a fun and safe environment. We also like to bring together smaller groups of people with very similar experiences from time to time, and we hope to help develop ongoing peer support through this service. We also have information about other groups around Wales.
Training
We deliver a range of training sessions, inputs and presentations across Wales. We most often provide these services to businesses, schools, agencies, charities, government departments, youth services and many more. If you’re looking for specific training in relation to gender and sexual diversity, identity or equality, then let us work with you to develop something specific to your needs.
